Left-rear intermittent light sometimes works, sometimes not after replacing the new bulb?
After my left turn signal cavalier bulb back in my 2002 died, just have not been able to get to work consistently after replacing the bulb. It works Sometimes, but much of the time will not light at all. Some tips I've received is that it may be the corrosion of contacts in the cap. If this is the case, How could clean the socket? Are there other possibilities? It is the right type of bulb, and I tried both of the pack I bought in does not look like the problem is in the lamp itself, but in connection with the socket.
Several things to consider: # 1: Make sure you are using the correct replacement bulb. The manual should have that information, if not, a Chilton manual should have that information. # 2: Contacts: make sure the bulb is installed correctly, adjusted, etc. Also, if you're worried about corrosion, first make sure that the key is not in the ignition and the lights are off, then take a very fine sandpaper (like # 2000 or sanding) and wrap some around the tip of a pencil, then lightly 'go' the inside of the contacts, then put a cloth on the end of the pencil y clean any dirt / sanding dust left behind. Also, make sure that the contacts are stringent enough to ensure good contact, no limp, etc. # 3: sometimes the fuse is loose in the holder, so make sure the fuse is the correct amperage and is correctly placed in the container. # 4: wiring: sometimes there is a nick or tear or corrosion, to verify this. # 5: change: sometimes you will, over time, which is called "dirty contacts." Having tried all this, and if none of this works, consider replacing the switch. If you are not comfortable doing such work, have a competent mechanic to do it. If you go that route, to check the remaining power, while who are under the Hood, especially the ground strap from the battery and the corrosion of the poles of the battery. Good Luck. ..
